The roots of the NyMaS lay in its predecessor “het Nijenrode Marketing Gezelschap”. In august 2006 Alexis van Dam and Bas van den Boer, two MSc students, successfully established the Nyenrode Marketing Society, which was able to benefit from the network the NMG had build up over the years.
![]() The founders in 2006: Bas van den Boer (Left) & Alexis van Dam (Right) Alexis and Bas found the NyMaS in order to create an extension of the curriculum which could help them to put theory into practice and learn about marketing in the business world of today. In addition, from January 2007 on it became possible to study a specialization in marketing during the MSc program at Nyenrode – which enhanced the need of a marketing study body. Alexis van Dam and Bas van den Boer are still connected to the NyMaS as respectively chairman and secretary of the Supervisory board, by which they yearly guide the new student board.
